#HalloweenINThePort: Tales of Sunken Ships

Join the Port Credit BIA and local history legend Richard Collins as we take a plunge into the history of Port Credit and explore the tales of the sunken ships that can be found in the frigid waters of Lake Ontario.

#HalloweenINThePort: Tales of Sunken Ships

Stories of tragedy cling to Lake Ontario like lamprey to a ship’s hull. No other trade is so heavily burdened with loss as seafaring. Port Credit’s mariner families witnessed more close calls than true calamities, but they all form an important part of the story of the village and its life-and-death link to Lake Ontario.

On October 29th meet the gallant crew of the Northman, the Emma, the Young Lion, and the Augusta, and hear the stories of the heroic people of Port Credit who risked their lives to rescue the men, and women, of these sailing ships.

Your tour will be approximately 1 hour and will start at 6:00 p.m. at the iconic Port Credit Lighthouse.

Port Credit has a rich and fascinating marine heritage that we will be exploring in our historic walking tours.

#HalloweenINThePort is a Halloween celebration for the whole family, and we invite you to participate in the festivities that will take place throughout the day.

Join us on October 29th from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a frightfully fun Halloween celebration.
